Autistic / Blind – But She Can Cook (Video)

Autistic and Blind, but she can cook. Put hash browns 1st on the list of the one thing Jess can cook for herself. She requires verbal prompts, and she resists a few steps because of her fear of getting burned. It’s a slow process, but who cares, she’s rarely in a hurry.

Autistic Blind - Jess Makes Hash Browns

A few notes:

  • Bedhead is massive, but not worth a fight first thing in the morning.
  • Real life is evident – working full-time, caring for J full-time, leaves no time nor energy for a spic and span house.
  • Our oven is ancient and falling apart.
  • Jess is proud of herself and wants her own house… until I insist she get the pan out of the oven herself, then she announces she not really independent. ?
