I am very excited to share the following announcement!!
Autism and Behavior Services (ABS) has provided Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in the Chattanooga area for the past 8 years. ABS has announced they are expanding their services to serve all ages across the lifespan of those impacted with autism and related disabilities.
To commemorate a new location and this expansion of services, ABS will be featuring the artwork of Jessica Brooks, an autistic/blind adult, during a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house. The artwork will be displayed throughout the clinic. The event will be coordinated by the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.

I have so much to say about “finding” Jess. I just don’t have the words. She and I talked at the Ringgold pool when my granddaughter was on the swim team. She loved to tell me that she was going on a trip that was far, far away. (The team was going to a meet in south Georgia, I believe.) I was caught up and enthralled with her. I loved her voice and I wondered how she measured time and distance, and I wondered what her imaginings were about the trip –I felt they had to be there even though not spoken. I can still hear her saying , “far, far away.” From time to time I would ask my daughter about you and her. I didn’t even know her name. My daughter sent me a video clip of Jess cooking her tater tots a few months ago. Of course , I loved it and loved hearing her mature voice, which is lovely, by the way. And now I have found you by way of a facebook post by Ken.
Reba,
Thank you so much for your sweet comments. Jess is such a pleasure and has always spread happiness and joy. It is wonderful to hear about your memories of her. For many years she often said she wanted to go far far away. Sometimes even “far, far, far, FAR away!” I am so glad you found our blog! If you haven’t subscribed yet, please consider it. You will get email updates when we publish new blog posts.
