A Few Days to Get Away

April 14, 2021
"Danny's Special Collection" opened up to a page. Writing is on the left page and a drawing on the right page. The text says "One day Danny began collecting on our walks. This was a new adventure. We went out early one Saturday morning and he began collecting stones: large, rough stones, grey, black, and orange-speckled stones. He even picked-up lucky stones and pebbles. They shimmered in the sunlight in a small stream and Danny just kept picking them up. I asked him why he was collecting them and he said, "For a special reason, for a special person."" The drawing on the right page depicts a girl in a yellow dress and a boy in blue shorts and a brown shirt. They are standing in a shallow stream. Surrounding them are fields of green.

One more thing to do, then I can rest. Living with Hashimoto's and being a full-time caregiver to an autistic adult, rest is a luxury. I keep pushing through that one more thing because rest will find me eventually.
